Around a third of the nuclear industry’s experts work in sole practice or in small companies. They hold decades of experience across civil nuclear, defence and adjacent regulated industries, and clients want them, but a sole practitioner cannot carry a framework, a quality system or a multidisciplinary team. The associate programme puts that around the expertise.
An associate is selected for depth, judgement and credibility in high-consequence environments, and brought into assignments where that expertise is what the client is buying. NCL provides the scope, the integration with the rest of the team, the governance and review, and the route to clients an individual would not reach alone. The associate’s expertise stays visible to the client; NCL answers for the engagement. Associates work to the same governance and quality expectations as staff consultants, on low-key assignments and on large, demanding programmes alike.
