NCL is a partnership of senior nuclear people. Everyone who carries an NCL assignment has held real responsibility in the industry, in regulation or in government, and the person a client meets at the start of an engagement is accountable for the work at the end.

People who have done the job before.

NCL’s people have run stations, licensed reactors, directed programmes, regulated the industry and advised government, and they join NCL to keep working at the top of the industry on their own terms. Partners own the client relationship and sponsor every assignment. Advisers give the opinions that Advisory rests on. Service directors set the standard of the work, and the consultants deliver.

Most stay active elsewhere in the industry alongside their NCL role, which is why clients get people whose knowledge is current.

Senior leadership

The Managing Director, the board and the managing partners for each line of the business: Consulting, Service Delivery and Advisory. The Consulting Managing Partner leads the commercial line, pipeline, conversion and the allocation of client ownership. The Service Delivery Managing Partner leads capability, deployment, standards and delivery quality. The Advisory Managing Partner leads the advisers and the standard of an NCL opinion.

ExperienceMore than 2,400 years of nuclear experienceAcross NCL’s partners, advisers and consultants: an average of twenty-four years each, two in five past thirty years, and forty-six chartered or doctoral qualifications between them. Every one has held real responsibility in the industry, in regulation or in government.

Advisers

Advisers are the people clients ask for by name, engaged where judgement and standing matter more than delivery hours. They are grouped below by the ground they cover: regulation, licensing and consent, the largest group, with former regulators, generic design assessment leaders and nuclear lawyers; strategy, commercial and finance; waste, decommissioning and fuel; and operations, security and defence. Many advisers work confidentially and are introduced privately rather than listed here, so the names below are part of the group. An advisory assignment names the adviser at the outset. How Advisory works

Service directors

Each of the six consulting practices has a service director accountable for the standard of every deliverable in that practice and for the people who produce them. They set how the work is done; the partner owns the client relationship. Appointments are being made through 2026 and each practice page carries the appointment as it is confirmed.

The consultants

Sixty consultants do the work across the six practices, from safety case and licensing through waste, operations and digital delivery to strategy and project delivery. Staff consultants, expert associates and specialists from alliance and affiliate companies work to one governance and quality system, under a partner’s direction and to a service director’s standards. Many hold senior positions elsewhere in the industry, so NCL introduces them assignment by assignment rather than in a public list.
